Sculptural and display objects that sit on a shelf, a console or a desk rather than on an altar: carved figures, small vessels, plaques and openwork pieces. Each listing describes the form, the material and the finish from the object itself, and the photographs show the piece from more than one angle.

Most pieces here run from about fifteen to thirty centimetres, which suits a bookshelf or a side table. If you are choosing a figure for a quieter, more formal setting, start with the Buddha statues and figures instead.
